i wanna farking tear you apart

i heard a song new to me on sirius last night that i really liked... the band is called she wants revenge, the track is "tear you apart"... the album was released in the UK in the fall... it's released here end of january... you can buy it on itunes if you so desire... i dunno why i like it so much... but the monotanous vocals really do it for me.. and i suppose i find the lyrics amusing... something i read compared them to joy division and interpol... i wouldn't know... never listened to either of them... anyways... i have the track playing on my myspace profile if you care to listen... yipee...

the stars sing to me...

now i really feel i should write something... i don't know what...

christmas was good... i was able to relax some for a few days... while vacation was nice don't get me wrong... it was not in any way, shape, or form relaxing...

i got reasonably inebriated at some point over the weekend... if you've seen gummo, you probably remember the chair scene... for us it was like that except imagine a lazy boy, a baseball bat, hedge clippers, a lawn aerator, knives, and fire... yeah...

work has been slow for awhile... the days now consist of me bullshitting with other people for hours and hours... it's a nasty habit... but there really is little ot no work to do... most of the program managers and stuff have been gone for two weeks burning their use it or lose it leave... so i go in around 9 leave 3 or so... with an hour lunch in there...

i didn't do much today in regards to preparing for my move to east lansing... tomorrow i need to make phone calls to phone company and power company... as well as i need ot get in touch with my professor about if my class schedule is satisfactory... and i need ot get my shit worked out with me being a TA... haha...

i need ot get my base decals off my cars tomorrow to turn them in... friday i turn in my keys... and at 1:30, directly after my liquid lunch, i turn in my governemnt ID card... and leave for an indeterminant amount of time...

i also need to clean roland and pickle cages... i bought peet moss for them yesterday... i hope pickles likes peet moss i have not used it for her yet... roland likes it jsut fine...

it's been warm recently... i took the old 7 out are a little cruise this evening... i have not driven her much the last tow months.. she needs and oil change... i was going to do it one night in late october... but my usual friend darkness covered me in her veil before i got around to it... the next i became ill for about a week... then it was oh shit time with my thesis... then ti was thanksgiving theni was in bed for a week with a 104 degree fever... then ti was apartment hunting, then vacation, then xmas... then here... me on my bed listening to the radio...

for x-mas i got sirius satellite radio(stars singing to me... haha, i seethe with wit... ok i'm done...) i am enjoying... the receiver came with the car kit, low profile antenna, cigarette lighter adapter, and sucton cup base... to use it in the house you need another antenna(car antenna not a quick install, it must be mounted externally and the wire hidden and routed inside, not too difficult but not a 30 second job either) and an ac to dc converter... this is sold as a home kit... i purchased one of these tonight i enjoy sirius just that much... my dad also got it for x-mas.. so we get a discount rate on our subscription... the no commercials is divine... as is the lack of censorship... i also like you can set alerts to artist and songs, so when they start playing on any station the receiver lets you know... david bowie has been on 4 or 5 times today... i get to listen to howard stern if i so choose... i've never listened to him before heh... but i can starting jan 9th... i dunno if i will...

satruday i got a letter from kettering confirming my work there is complete and that my diploma will be dated december 17th... i was late on my thesis and unable to participate in the december commencement... but still get a diploma with a date of one week later... so that was somewhat of a load off my mind... though i have enough other things going on i don't feel relaxed...

on my normal blog people commented on how myspace hurts their eyes... i wholeheartedly agree... some peopl'se pages are nigh im-fucking-possible to read... other look terribly disorganized.. i have to wonder if these people ever look at their own page... keep is simple, stupid...

i made up a new word yesterday... well it more of an evolution of a term i've heard brian and maybe chad use... trixy.. as in tricky... atleast thats how i would spell it... but my new word was trixary... like someone commiting and act of trixary... yipee...

yeah i suppose i should sort of maybe think about bed... goodnight all... pleasant dreams...

back from the desert

i have been on a family vacation. i got home at 10:30ish last night. the trip started by flying into san diego, spent three days there, drove to palm springs for a day, and ended with three days in las vegas.

all in all it was a good trip. of course there was the normal family drama, but i can generally deal with that anymore... i'm not saying i like it, or find it pleasant.. but i can deal... though it does give me much to think about whether or not i want a family of my own... sometimes it just seems so much easier to just be alone... and just not care...

i lived in san diego briefly as a small child, 1 or 2 years old, my parents had lived there before me, and moved back again after me... they told us a lot about how things used to be... and we drove by their first house... my dad was amused that an el camino was parked in the drive way... he too has an affinity for el camino's...

we took a tour of the air craft carrier midway, it was neat... wlaked through the crews quarters and onthe deck and all that jazz, a pretty cool experience... i have lots of pictures.. but i'm lazy... some day i may post some...

the first night in san diego was spent in a holiday inn express... nothing fancy... the second night we stayed at Hotel del Coronado, with an ocean view room... the hotel was first opened in 1888... very neat victorian feel... almost lovecraftian i thought... (there's me trying to sound cultured)... the thing i found very strange was that there was little symmetrical... or cookie cutter... floor 1 looked little to nothing like floor 2... floor 3 was still very different from 1 and 2... the carpet and all was usually the same.. but just the room lay out... it's as if the architects of the time were a hell of a lot less lazy than they are today making everything the same and repeated from floor to floor... a neat experience...

next day we went to the san diego zoo, very nice zoo, very huge... we tooka bus tour that showed us 70% of the zoo according to the tour guide... after the bus tour we went too see the pandas and visted the reptile house... i want a big ass snake now... i think a blood python... they apparently are the smallest of the python's growing to a maximum of only 9 feet or so...

for lunch we met with my dad's first boss after he grauated from school.. he's in his 70's now.. but it was neat meeting him... my dad was very humbled that his boss paid for lunch for my entire family...

the day we went to tia juana, mexico... mexico smells... like shit... there's a strip club on every block... and the mexicans are very aggressively trying to sell tourists shit.. some even touched my arms... i refused ot buy anything from them other than lunch and beer... beer is cheap there... traffic is a nightmare... they sell absinth... customs is a breeze if you just flash your passport... lunch in mexico didn't impress me... i guess i prefer what my dad calls tex-mex... it has more spice to it... the mexican food in mexico i found very bland...

from mexico we went to palm springs, ca... the previous hotel i thought i was surrounded my rich people... while there were plenty wealthy and far more polite then the people how wise they were rich that go on cruises and are painfully rude... the people at "The Lodge of Rancho Mirage" near palm springs made them look fake... we pull up to the valet parking... maserati's and bentley's were parked around the entrance... we were all in complete awe... the rom only cost $120... winter time special... but this place was rather jaw dropping... and the guests were polite... except for a pair of very rude asian teens...

i'm gonna get very brief now... i could go on much longer but i'll just give the gristle now... day in palm springs... tram ride to 8000 feet... tram floor rotated as you rode up... rather disorienting... neat view... a bit of snow... found out the chargers beat the colts... though now about dungy's son i feel bad for them... stopped by the dinosaurs en route to vegas... took pictures and ate at the truck stop they belong to... this truck stop was the first meal of the trip i was impressed with the service everywhere else the service was downright shitty even the super fancy ass hotel...back onteh road... traffic is shit in so cal too...

arrive in vegas late... stayed at monte carlo... winter special $70 a night... great brew pub there... i tried there IPA and amber ale... enjoyed both... vegas was mostly walking around taking iteh casino's and there shops... drinking some... had a few beers my father and his riend that met us in vegas.. wa sa very good time... was told mutliple times that i was more than welcome to go work for northrop grumman in palm dale whenever i wanted... in 4 or 5 year si may take them up onthat offer... provided they pay me appropriately to live in california... though i was able ot find apartments for $800... bad but not impossible to live... and you can find houses for low $200's... again bad but not impossible...

went to work today... wore one of my skinny puppy shirts... dr. h noticed and we had a nice talk about puppy... in grad school he was doing a psych study on the effects of distracting music on people as they perform a certain task... one of the distracting songs he used was puppy's vx gas attack... this i found amusing... on my last day we're having a nice liquid lunch going away party for me... should be great fun...

needless to say work is grinding to a halt... this chapter of my life is nearly completed... undergrad complete... whole new life awaits in lansing... parts my previous chapters will carry over... but i do feel i am in a way starting a new life in just a week...

this is long... i think there were other things i wanted to say... but i should end this... any questions about the trip are welcome... also, i would like to get some friend together some time and hit up vegas with them...

final note, i began drinking red bull... i figure they gonna have two f1 teams they can have my support... plus i need some wiiings now and then...

oh, also i'm posting my blogs on myspace as well... my linky is here

that's right! music!

today i got the new suicide commando single that i had preordered in october... the preorder was not because i was just so excited for it, but just for convience since i was placing another order at that time as well...

but umm yeah its suicide commando, nothing special for a single really... i still need to give it more time of course... it has 6 tracks, 2 SC originals from the upcoming (march?) full album, and 2 remixes of each of those by other groups... but nothing is really standing out at me yet...

i guess i was just given too high of expectations by the last single i purchased, grendel's soilbleed... that was a fantastic single... 7 tracks, title track and two remixes of it, plus 4 other tracks all of which i found pleasurable...

YAARGH!

I had another flu this week... that's about once a month this fall i've had nasty incapacitating flu's... both times i had been sicker than i remember being in a long long time... this week i was stuck in bed with a 103.5F fever for a couple days, only today am i starting to feel better... doctor took blood and only said that it appears to be viral and i just have to wait it out, he gave me tylenol with codeine to deal with the headaches it brought... i've also hardly eattn more than a piece of toast a day all week... wee...

this messed up my plans to get up to east lansing to look at places to live... and i'm sure it looks super suspitious at work, burning all this sick leave... before this fall i had never used sick leave...

also, on a david bowie kick... i think i know what started it too... there;s an xm radio commerical with snoop looking for his snoop necklaces with different celebrities in studios doing radio shows... and of course one of them is mr. bowie (who happens to be wearing snoop's necklace)... mr. bowie is finally beginning to look a bit old... i guess he is almost 60... ooh his birthday is only 6 days from mine, January 8th... hehe...

i hope i can maybe go out tonight... i'm tired of laying around the house... depends if the fever returns or not...
